The Richland County Solid Waste & Recycling Division is hiring a Manger of Solid Waste.  The person selected for this position will assist the Solid Waste & Recycling Division General Manager in directing the activities of the Division: planning, directing and supervising the daily administrative functions; assists in planning, organizing and implementing programs within major organizational policies, reporting program progress to executive-level administration through reports and conferences.


Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or closely related field. Must possess or have the ability to possess Certified Landfill Operator or Certified Landfill Manager certification within 12 months.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or a closely related field. Possession of Professional Engineer (PE) registration in South Carolina is preferred. Must possess or have the ability to possess Certified Landfill Operator or Certified Landfill Manager certification within 12 months. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Requires six years of management experience.




HDR is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their Solid Waste Practice in any of the following South Atlantic Area locations: Raleigh, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Wilmington, Greenville (SC), Columbia, Rock Hill, Charleston, Atlanta or Savannah. The primary duties of this position will include all aspects of engineering, project management, project pursuits, and client relationship management for projects primarily focused on the municipal solid waste (MSW), industrial waste, and recycling industries, with an emphasis on system planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, pollution control systems, and permitting/regulatory compliance. Specific duties will include planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of landfill and monofill liner and final cover systems, storm water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leachate management systems, landfill gas collection and control systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements (utilities, roads, support buildings, soil borrow areas, etc.).

 

The Senior Project Manager will function as a lead project designer, engineer of record, and project manager on mid-size to large projects, and is expected to demonstrate a history of progressive experience effectively leading similar scale projects. This individual will be expected to effectively manage multi-discipline project teams, work closely with HDR national technical experts, maintain client satisfaction and achieve booking goals. They will also be expected to market and secure new work from existing and potential clients, coordinate the work of professional staff and subconsultants throughout project assignments, perform engineering functions and complete project tasks, coordinate with clients in the execution of work, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. They must demonstrate leadership experience in taking a project from planning, through design, construction to operations.





CITY OF MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA

SOLID WASTE CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

This position functions primarily to protect public health and safety and the environment of the City of Myrtle Beach.  The purpose of this classification is to enforce City codes and ordinances to include investigation of complaints, violations and to insure adherence to local, state and federal ordinances and regulations that relate to compliant collection and illegal dumping activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, construction management or related filed; or three (3) years of experience involving code enforcement; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
