Attention Recycling and Waste Haulers: The current recycling trend that seems to be here to stay is single-stream or commingled collection. As communities add more materials for recycling such as glass to their single-stream recycling programs, new challenges with collection can arise. Join the Glass Recycling Group discussion on 5/17 from 1-4 pm to hear the latest developments in glass recycling and weigh in on the pros and cons of commingled collection including glass.

Continue reading »]]> The South Carolina Palmetto Chapter of SWANA is proud to announce that it will be hosting the NC, SC, TN, and VA Quad State conference in 2013. The event is scheduled for August 27-31, 2013 at the Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation located in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Registration for the SC SWANA Spring Conference is now OPEN.  The event will be held in Pawley’s Island, SC, and is scheduled for May 16-18, 2012.

We have another great event planned, including the golf outing, and new this year, dinner sponsored by Agru America on Thursday night at Pawley’s Plantation.  We have a day and a half filled with the most recent information on legislative and regulatory updates, new technology and some surprises that you won’t want to miss.

Lodging
Contact the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort now to reserve your room accommodations. They can be reached by phone at (800) 845-1897. Let them know it’s for the SC SWANA event at Pawley’s Plantation.

Vendors
There are 32 spaces. Each space includes a 6-ft table.

Conference Sponsors
Our conferences have been successful, because of the great sponsors we have had. We have been able to add activities to our event through their generosity. If you would like to be a sponsor, there are several opportunities.

Golf Outing
The golf outing will be held on Thursday, May 17 beginning at 12:30. We have reserved tee times for 52 players. Please know this will not be a “shot gun” start. Actual tee times will be assigned the week before the conference. There are sponsorship opportunities for the golf outing such as beverage cart and hole sponsorship.

Awards and prizes to be announced during the evening reception beginning at 5:30 pm.
