HISTORY OF SWANA

SWANA was originally founded in 1962. The South Carolina Chapter received its charter at the 1990 Annual Business Meeting on August 23, 1990 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The SC Chapter now has over 250 members! The membership is a diverse group of public and private sector professionals in the solid waste industry. The Chapter is focused on providing training and annually presenting conferences to support professionals in all aspects of solid waste including waste collection, disposal, gas collection, permitting, design, and operations. We hope you will join us at one of our upcoming events.

From strategic insights to ready to implement solutions, RCon positions SWANA as the driving force behind the next era of waste and resource management, turning challenges into solutions.

    Registration Opens in Mid-May

Registration opens on Tuesday, May 20 with a two-day super sale exclusively for SWANA members, which will be the lowest rate available. Starting on Thursday, May 22, there will be an early-bird rate for members open through July 18. Group rates are available for organizations who register four or more people as a group.

The conference includes general sessions, technical content, hybrid trainings, and technical and experiential learning tours to learn about local industry sites and programs, as well as time to visit key sites in the Columbus region. This is your opportunity to share practices, lessons learned, and solutions that are advancing the industry. Whether your focus is on policy, technology, community engagement, or operational strategies, RCon is the place to share your ideas with your industry peers.

    Why Submit a Proposal?
